6th December A decade of Shame !!!

I write this article as an Indian an how much ashamed I am of the black day of indian history . Not that our history is flawless , we have had our share of another shameful events to recount , like the bhopal gas tragedy , the golden temple , akshardham , gujrat riots , bombay riots and so on an so forth but 6th of december still manages to retain its top postion . Mainly because in some ways this particular day was in a way responsible for what followed later on in India. Today if we have constant fear of bomb blast and riots in any and every city is all because of the greed and !@#$%^& of some policticans who wanted to come to power !! and some stupid @#$%^&* useless indians were so driven by it that they forgot the repurcussions it might have on the coming generations . Today if i am afraid to live in an area which is dominated by some other community, it is all because of these politicians who in the garb of hindutva and crap lead us to the present misery . And what surprises me is some really educated or better to call them literate people still believe that whatever happened in ayodhya was good and served some particular community a lesson . That in that place there indeed was a temple which was demolished by some other ruler . My question is who the @$!@#$%^&* cares about presence o a temple of church or any other religious monument . It was just a monument made of stone by some laborers . and if you really were all into hindutva and bhagwan ram and his relatives and clan why the hell did you not follow the actual hindutva policy . that place could have been used to build some hospital or some school . And the useless and good for nothing indians who actually demolished the monument could have been employed there to break stones for some better cause . I remember seeing mr . vajpayee and advani and his chelas and chelis screaming at the top of their voices when they were doing some rally in my city . I was in 5th std then and was back from my summer school vacations . How exicted and bemused i was cathing a glimpse of politicians who used to feature on a newspapers front page . And exactly 6 months later when my school declared half day on 7th december and was off for around a month little did i realise in my unexpected vacation happines that this is just a presucursor of uglier things to come . I wonder if these 80 something politicians realise what mess they have created of my country . How can greed and gluttony lead them to destruct a entire civilization . And fact of the matter is things havent changed yet . Some stupid #$@#$%^&* guy in gujarat proclaims he is the new champion of hindutva .My point do we need these 80 somethings oldies to tell us what our religion is and what we should be doing and how. Madame sushma swaraj raises objections to FTV and MTV , but fails to see Khajuraho and other indian texts .How blind can some people be , reminds me of cat who closes her eyes while drinking milk , thinking that no 1 can see. i am not saying we all become mahatma gandhi and believe in his philosophies . My take is when will it all stop , 1 community believes in monument breaking and train torching another retorts it with multiple bomb blast and hostage with help from other countries . What are we leaving for our next generations . Blood bath , riots ,constant fear , history of shame !!!! Its time to wake up . Its time to actually shine india not just by empty hollow words but by actions !!

Waiting for December !

Reason or no reason . Its the start of new year , new promises , new life , new people . Reminds me of DOCOMO ad .. bcoz life changes in seconds . Sure it does , old relationships , long lost frds sometimes they r just gone . People just stop communicating . And after a while you also move ahead in life , forgetting them , remembering them . Life is wierd they say and I reply cant get wierder than this .

Click Click Click

Thats how you open a screen Dad and then put your username in the box and fir password .Theek hain . I wrote all the instructions on a piece of paper as a reminder of steps.
This was me telling my dad 2 months back using railways reservation website for booking tickets . And now my dad is a pro in all online transactions so much so that he could add a biller on his banks website . Thanks to technology and thanks to the internet spread in India courtesy all IT companies ,regulations , norms etc etc .
Bottomline is all these mini changes or revolutions if I can call it have helped the common Indian man. Now my parents do not have to wait for a letter from me or do an expensive phone call if i am not in india . They are logged in gtalk all the time and so am I . So much so that when my dad is done with his lunch or he wants to grumble that my mom made some bland food for the afternoon he just pings me and I know . And with the webcam the distance between my parents , my sister and my location doesnt even seem to exist . After chatting through skype or yahoo or any other messenger , i have a webcam chat almost daily with my entire family . Though I still miss their presence and the food , but atleast i could see them and my house . I dont have to carry some old paper photos and become sad.
India has changed in all these years and I am lucky that I was a part of before and after .
Not that I am a patron of any polictical party but the fact that some govt policies have helped us middle class dream big by housing loans , eductaion loans etc is worth appreciating . True some people might say we have lost a lot , we are so much technology glued that we actually do not have any interpersonal skills left . I tend to disagree with this fact though a bit. Technology helps us to save so much time on necessary errands that we can afford to spend some more time with our loved ones . True infrastructure has not developed in india , but then we do not have to go far and wide to pay our bills and stand for buses . Most of the grocery stores are online, though my mom still takes my dad to the sabzi wala as she cant negogiate in online store :)
I agree that all this has come with some price , hectic work , lifestyle maintainece , irregular food, pollution , but as an Indian I truly believe ..like all other issues that we faced and eliminated this one too shall pass with our collective effort . Amen !

Consulting Pressures !!!

what is consulting ? what do consultants do ? i get these questions from almost every industry person i meet
people continously cribbing and telling how consulting companies do nothing but just make quick money , by telling them what is the obvious route .
but the fact is we consultants work as hard as every other industry person , and the fact that sometimes we have to tell the management what is obvious is also not easy . coz every data , every claim we make has to be substantiated with so much information .
coz every word we say has an indirect and direct impact on the organization'z employees

like tat only !!

like that only !!.. a play which I saw last weekend in ncpa , needless to say it made me realize wat I am doing with my life . Was I not one of those charaters in the play ..who grumble and crib about India and say v r like tat only !!!
V who r ready to get a fake id card to go to a club (not that I it need anymore) but will never ever bother about a fake voters id. N I hvnt even casted my vote for once , even when I was in my hometown njoying vacations !!! n wat answer I gave for not voting.. India wont change , the politicians r all corrupt , i cant miss the movie for standing in voting line !!!
After watching that play i did feel embarrased and ashamed of myself , i am one of those indians who make a decent living, who splurge money on movies and eating out in big fancy places most of the time , but then i wldnt think of doing somthing for the people of my country . people who actually stand in voting line for hours , ppl who do all the menial !!! work while we with our fancy designations and business suits look down upon them
i think time has come for all people like me to give back something to society . It can be in any form or stature doesnt matter , it can b as small as giving ur maid that extra 500 rs for her childs treatment , but lets just start .
As the play said it doesnt have to be "Rang De Basanti" , but it sure can b "Apna India "

Weekend Hangover :)

wats ur plan for the weekend..hmm nothing much ..just cleaning up of house , washing clothes n catching up on some movies and lotz of lost sleep during the weekdays
i am sure many o f us could relate to that .. is there anything else we do on weekends..may b some treckking trips ..me excluded since they involve getting up early in the wee hours of morning and then getting tanned !! and i am sure i dont need any of it !!!!
is it the case that in our current corporate scenario and the job scene all of us hv lost the edge to be connected .. may b , may b not for some . if i look at myself i have definitely lost touch with quite a large number of friends of mine due to my continous travelling schedule. i agree that i do make friends in new place , but am sure many of my old friends wld say that its difficult to get in touch with em also since my contact # keeps getting updated !!!!
in the world of social networking and blackberries y is it so hard to keep in touch with near and dear ones
anyways coming back to the topic of weekend hangover , while i was in middle east for a project , i always felt it odd to go to office on a Sunday !!! , though the Friday off was anytime welcome :)
the only thing i ever did in middle east was just sleep (nothing new for me ) and watch movies as it seems the only other thing was going to malls and window shopping (since i couldnt afford anything !!)
so weekend in mumbai when its raining ..hoarding up of lotz of food , buffering movies and buying some cd's in case its impossible to get out ...
therez definitely something in India which keeps me on :)

Mumbai Monsoon !!

Well enough has been said and written about the monsoon in the financial capital of India and not everything about it is true to say the least .
Currently am sitting idlling and wasting arr spending my time waiting for the rains to get over and to catch a slow local to my place
And honestly the rains are not that bad as they have been depicted in the TV news channel
